We finally got a couple of coast to coast loads this month. We got a load that picked up in New Hampshire and delivered in Washington. We then picked up in Washington and delivered in New Jersey. We also had a couple of loads going to California loads.
We managed to spend the Labor Day weekend at Sam and Christy’s. We celebrated Donnas’ birthday early, only to leave California and return to celebrate her birthday on her birthday.
I managed to get myself four new tattoos while running loads in California during the month. The guy who used to do my ink moved to Hawaii, leaving me to find a new person to do my work. I found a shop in Colusa, which is a small town about fifty miles north of Sam and Christy’s house off I-5. It is a one person shop, run by a woman who has traveled the world in different shops and finally settled down in this sleepy little town. She does really great work, I'm really happy I found her do my ink.
Amanda, the oldest rug rat, has a boyfriend. He is a young Marine, who just returned from Iraq, and is going to be deployed to Afghanistan in five months. Amanda having a boyfriend is unsettling to me. Amanda and I were like running buddies. Whenever Donna and I go to California Amanda and I would always hang out together. She would go with me when I got my tattoos done, we would travel to the motorcycle shops and western wear stores. Now between the “boyfriend” and the community college, she has little time left over to hang out with an old fart like me.
We had a great month financially; the west coast loads were really great paying loads. If we can finish out the year doing as well as we did this month we will be in real good shape.
While we were in California we had a recall on our truck engine taken care of. The recall was for a fuel line to the injectors. The fuel line it seems could fail, causing a fire.
We took a week off while in California, we ran pretty hard for over a month and decided a short break would be a good thing. Blog Author Top of Page Bottom of Page
